This year’s tournament will be hard to predict the winner but it definitely looks like an underdog win.
These are the few teams that look good and might be competitors;
They are the defending champions of the Euros, some might say it was mere luck and they frauded their way through to the final. What we can’t overlook is the determination and consistency of the team behind their star player Cristiano Ronaldo. He is backed by team mates Pepe, Ricardo Pereira, Ricardo Quaresma among others.
Silva will drift in from the right flank to link up with Ronaldo and he could be the unsung hero for Portugal this summer. Portugal are in group B with Spain Morocco and Iran.
They will be captained by the cunning and resilient Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. The entire Spain squad is full of stars and players from rival team Barcelona and Real Madrid, it will be a very competitive team as the players are equally as good with a mid of Sergio Busquets, Isco, Andres Iniesta , koke and David Silva.Also their stopper is among the best David DeGea and forwads of Asensio Diego Costa and Lucas Vazquez.
They have star players like Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Coutinho, and Neymar. The squad is decent with the mid of real madrid star Marcelo and PSG player Thiago Silva .Brazil is probably the favorite to win alongside Germany. This team has quality everywhere and it’s hard to find a weakspot. Losing Dani Alves hurts, but Tite has the options to replace him, and it may just make the team a bit more defensive, which isn’t a bad thing. Marcelo will get forward, Philippe Coutinho is coming off a nice half-season with Barca and the five-time champs may just add their sixth star come July.
They are the defending champions and their squad is good and looks like the best in the world.Germany qualified for the finals in Russia with a perfect record of 10 wins from 10 in UEFA Group C. No fewer than 21 players found the target as Germany became just the second team in history – after Spain in 2010 – to progress with a hundred percent winning record.Leroy Sane joins Mario Götze and Andre Schürrle, who combined to lift Germany to their fourth World Cup triumph four years ago, but are left to watch the 2018 showpiece from home. Reus selection in the squad shocked many.
They head into Russia with Spurs stopper Hugo Lloris as their first choice .After missing out on winning their home European Championship by an extra time defeat to Portugal in 2016, France’s young and talented squad is two years older and look like serious contenders to win the World Cup.
Key to France’s success will be to get all the star players playing to the best of their ability, Paul Pogba has been in terrible form though with Manchester United and with the French team. If Deschamps can get the best out of Pogba, France will be an even more feared side. If not, they have still got, N’Golo Kante, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and a host of other incredible players available to them.
They will miss the service of Dimitri Payet after he suffered an injury during the Europa final. Nonetheless, the squad has quality depth and amazing forwards and mid to lift the Cup.
