Lorenzo Pellegrini Italy Euro 2020
Italian midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is eager to make up for it this summer with Italy after missing the Euro 2020 tournament due to injury.

The AS Roma player, who sees a great deal of unity in the current squad, is eager to contribute his quota to the goal of the team.

In this international break, the Azzurri are preparing for their warm-up games against Venezuela on Thursday and Ecuador on Sunday in the United States of America.
There is unity in the squad under coach Luciano Spalletti.

Speaking with RAI Sport, Pellegrini revealed that there has been team talk over these last few months, and the coach knows how much he wants to be involved in games in the future.
Now that he is back to full fitness and has been an important player for the rejuvenated Gialorossi under Daniele De Rossi, Pellegrini said he is in the squad that has the opportunity to work well ahead of the game.

The last time he featured for the Nazionale was in the Nations League third-place final against the Netherlands in June, while his last start was a year ago against England.
Pellegrini was on the team list for the EURO 2020 tournament but was ruled out by injury. This made him watch as his teammates lifted the trophy at Wembley Stadium.
“At the end of the day, perhaps that’s how it had to be, as I was so glad to see the lads win. They also made me feel like I was part of the group, even though I was at home and they were at the Euros.

Italy already qualified for the next Euros in Germany. This is the last get-together before the tournament.

Ahead of the competition, he said the players want to work hard and do what the coach says.

Pellegrini also lauded De Rossi, who took over from Jose Mourinho, who had struggled under the former Chelsea manager.

He said his performance is obvious to everyone as Roma is getting results and performances.

“We’re working well and very enthusiastic, but the truth is that we have achieved nothing yet. We just got things back on track, but there are many games to be played before the end of the season.”
