Rashford has suffered a knee injury during a private game between the squad at St George’s Park on Monday. The England manager confirmed the knee injury after arriving in St Petersburg with his squad.
Southgate revealed Rashford will be assessed by the medical staff, but is confident the injury is not too serious.
Instead of choosing a third warm up game before leaving the UK, he opted to pitch his stars against each other behind closed doors.
Rashford is vying with Raheem Sterling to make the starting XI against Tunisia.England will hold their first training session at their Repino base on Wednesday morning and it remains to be seen if Rashford will be involved.
