Group H: Poland – World Cup Betting Odds & Tips

Poland will look to build on their superb qualifying campaign when they make their seventh appearance at a World Cup finals in Russia. The Eagles will feature at their first World Cup in 12 years but they made a huge statement during qualifying as they won eight out of their 10 games.

Adam Nawalka’s men are now up to seventh in the world rankings and they are being classed as potential underdogs for the tournament. Under Nawalka, Poland reached their first UEFA European Championship quarter-finals in 2016 and their current squad is packed full of talent.

Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for Poland this summer and he heads into the tournament in superb form. The Bayern Munich hitman scored 16 goals in qualifying and he is now Poland’s all-time leading goalscorer with 51 goals.

Poland are 2.75 to win Group H and their squad will be quietly confident of producing the goods. Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and Juventu’s Wojciech Szczesny will fight for the No.1 jersey while Kamil Glik and Lukasz Piszczek will provide some experience in defence.

West Brom loanee Grzegorz Krychowiak will be the battering ram in midfield but Nawalka’s team has bags of pace thanks to Jakub Blaszczykowsi and Kamil Grosicki. The weather conditions will suit Poland down to the ground and they could equal their best-ever finish this summer.

Poland reached the semi-finals in 1974 and 1982 and they will start their campaign against Senegal on June 19. Poland are 2.20 to win that game in Moscow, with the draw 3.20, while Senegal are outsiders at odds of 3.40.

They then face Colombia in Kazan before finishing their Group H campaign at the Volgograd Arena against Japan.
