Group G: Tunisia – World Cup Betting Odds & Tips

Tunisia will end a 12 year absence for World Cup competition when they head to Russia to mix it with the likes of England, Belgium and Tunisia.

The Eagles of Carthage topped their qualifying group to seal a place in Russia ahead of DR Congo, Libya and Guinea without losing a game.

However, their route to the showpiece event wasn’t without complication as they sacked manager Henryk Kasperczak after a disappointing run at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which saw them lose to Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals.

Nabil Maaloul returned to take charge of Tunisia, who are priced at 15.00 to top Group G, for the second time in his managerial career in April 2017 and he succeeded in securing World Cup qualification.

Qatar-based Al Duhail forward Youssef Msakni ended the qualifying campaign as Tunisia’s top goalscorer with three strikes to his name and he will have the nation’s hopes on his shoulders.

The African nation have previously featured at the World Cup in 1978, 1998, 2002 and most recently 2006 but they have never made it beyond the group stage and boast only one victory.

England, who beat Tunisia 2-0 in the opening game of the 1998 World Cup, will provide their first test in Group G when they meet in Volgograd on June 18.

Group favourites Belgium are next up for Tunisia in Moscow on June 23 before they end the group stage against debutants Panama five days later in Saransk.
