Mo Salah had a superb season with Liverpool last season having scored a record breaking 32 Premier League goals and over the course of the last 12 months after he fired 44 goals in just 52 appearances for the club. He went ahead to win the FPA award and several player of the month awards.
The player however, failed to secure a Champions League medal after being injured by Sergio Ramos and his team being defeated by Real Madrid.
The Egyptian king also failed to play for his countries opening match which they lost and also couldn’t do much for his country after they were eliminated from this year’s world cup after failing to win a single match.
The player has today signed a long term contract with Liverpool, the question has been his commitment to the club just like his predecessor like Luis Suarez who left after signing new contracts.
Klopp when asked about the contract extension had this to say, “I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season.
It demonstrates two things very clearly also – his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him. We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfil all their professional dreams and ambitions – we are working hard together to achieve this.
“When someone like Mo Salah commits and says this place is my home now, it speaks very loudly I think.”
