Brazil finally get full points after Costa Rica playing defensive football for 90 minutes only for them to give in to pressure.
Countinho puts Brazil ahead in the 91st minute with typical Catinho style as Neymar seals the win with a stunning finish in the 97th minute before the final whistle. Neymar is left in tears kneeling in the field as Brazil get a shot of success to stay longer in the tournament.
Brazil created a lot of chances in the second half but all of them didn’t result to goals which led to Neymar’s frustration and him being shown a yellow card after thumping the ball down in anger, whilst Countinho receiving the same after confronting the referee.
Overall Brazil had 10 corners, 11 fouls and 12 shots on target in a match which they dominated with 68% possession.
Costa Rica put up a spirited fight and defended so well, but ultimately they’ve shown nothing in attack in either of their outings and won’t be missed.
