A month after being considered surplus to requirements at AFC Leopards, Ghanaian striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has joined Libyan top flight side Al Nasr on a free transfer.
Soka has reliably learnt that Al Nasr, through the Libyan FA, has made an official request for Fiamenyo’s International Transfer certificate (ITC) to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) in the bid to sign the Ghanaian who joined the den in January 2017 after signing a deal with the men in blue in August 2016 but couldn’t feature due to work permit issues.
News surrounding his departure at the den had mixed sentiments from the Leopards politburo with the club chairman Mr Dan Mule having told Soka in an interview that the player was back in Ghana after being ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an injury; the player having left with five goals to his name .
The former Hearts of Oak striker signed for Leopards on a year-and-a-half deal after mutually terminating his contract with Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs; he also had a tryout with Swedish side IF Djugardens in 2011.
Al-Nasr Sports Cultural and Social Club (SCSC) was founded in 1954 and plays their home matches at the 10550 capacity Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.
Apart from Fiamenyo’s ITC request, the Zambian FA has also issued a request for Peter Ariel Mwita from Vapor Sports Ministries to facilitate his move to Zambian side Kalulushi Modern Stars FC
