Tanzania midfielder Abdalla Hamisi has warned opponents at the forthcoming CECAFA
Senior Challenge of a stiff challenge from the team in the showpiece slated for Kenya from Sunday 3 December.
The midfielder who plies his trade in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) with Sony Sugar FC admitted they are in a tough group that has the hosts but declared readiness to face Kenya, an opponents he is keen to topple having played against some of the players therein in the league.
What to Expect
“Playing against some of their players week in week out gives me a glimpse of what to expect during our match and that is some edge. They have good players across the pitch but we are ready to topple them and this can only be achieved if we play as a team. Our focus though is our opening match against Libya which we want to win,” Abdala told Soka.
The midfielder has been a regular figure in the Taifa Stars team in recent games and acknowledges the importance of each game ahead of them as they go for the title.
“It won’t be an easy task as there are good teams participating. Teamwork will be key in this showpiece and what I have seen in our sessions, is everyone wants to do the best for the team. We will be treating each game as a final and our main aim is to go all the way and bring the trophy home,” he added.
The Tanzanian team is expected to jet into the country on Thursday 30 November and just as the hosts, they will be playing their group games at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
