After helping his team win the European Championships in 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping for even greater glory as he tries to help Portugal win their first ever World Cup.

Portugal’s best ever finish at a World Cup came back in 1966 when they finished third in their debut in the competition.

Their success in the European Championships two years ago lifted them up to third in the world rankings and the world will be watching Ronaldo as he tries to lead his team out of Group B and beyond.

Portugal are 2.88 to win the group but they will need to do better than they did in 2014, when they failed to qualify for the knockout stages in Brazil.

On an individual level, Ronaldo has proven himself as one of the best footballers of his generation and in the history of the game.

He is now the all-time leading scorer for both Portugal and Real Madrid and he won the Ballon d’Or for a fifth time in 2017.

His club form this year has been disappointing compared to his usual standards as Madrid continue to struggle in La Liga.

Despite Real’s inconsistency in the league, Ronaldo has still netted 23 goals in all competitions and looks in good shape as the World Cup approaches this summer.

Ronaldo has adapted his game to become the leader for Portugal and they can never be easily overlooked in the betting due to his ability and prowess in front of goal.

The European champions are priced at 29.00 to go all the way this year and Ronaldo’s form and fitness will be crucial to their chances.
