Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is starting to find his feet in the first-team at Anfield and is hoping he can continue his decent form and replay the faith shown in his by manager Brendan Rodgers.
The starlet broke onto the scene last season but, after some early impressive performances for the Reds, the now 19-year-old found himself down the pecking order earlier this campaign.
However, Sterling has come back stronger and is currently on a run of 10 straight games in the first-team and has already got his name on the scoresheet three times in the Premier League for Liverpool, who are 9.50 to win the English crown this season as they sit just off the pace in fourth.
Sterling has been happy with the campaign so far and hopes he can continue contributing to the team.
He told the club’s official website: “I’m really enjoying having a run in the team; anyone playing for the club would love to have a run in the team.
“I knew within myself that there would be a point in the season when I would get a chance. I just had to be ready.
“In training I was working hard to hopefully get a chance; the chance came and hopefully I can repay the manager by either scoring or assisting.”
Sterling will be hoping to add to his goalscoring tally on Saturday when Liverpool host Aston Villa at Anfield with the Reds, who have dropped just three points at home all season, at 1.19 to secure another victory.
