On his second spell at Stamford Bridge, Serbian international Nemanja Matic is looking to become a real success story in west London this time around and help Chelsea win silverware this season.

Having found game time hard to come by with the Premier League outfit during his first spell, Matic decided to move on to pastures new and a three-year stint in Portugal with Benfica has been more than beneficial to the 25-year-old.

Time in the Portuguese top flight, playing for a club like Benfica where the spotlight is always on you, will have done the playmaker no harm whatsoever for the rigors of the English top tier.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has clearly seen enough in Matic to warrant a £21m deal for the Serb, who is hoping his return to the Bridge will be a positive move for his career.

He told the club’s official website: “First, I want to play and help the team to win the Premier League, and if it’s possible to play in and win the Champions League in the future (he is cup-tied in this season’s tournament).

“I want to win titles here.”

Matic’s first appearance in his second stint with the Blues could see him feature against rivals Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The London outfit are 1.78 to take all three points against the Red Devils, while manager David Moyes and his men are 4.67 underdogs to take the spoils in the capital and climb closer to the top four.
