Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has confirmed he is unsure about his future as he prepares for what will be his last World Cup.

Lampard is currently training with the England squad ahead of their friendly with Peru as they continue their preparations ahead of this summer’s tournament.

The 35-year-old will be one of the squad’s elder statesmen with boss Roy Hodgson hoping he can provide some experience for the younger members of the squad.

He missed out on silverware this season under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and the former West Ham midfielder has revealed that he isn’t sure where his future lies.

Lampard insists he would like to continue playing with a number of possible offers on the table. On a number of occasions this season, he has been linked to the MLS to follow in the footsteps of David Beckham and Jermain Defoe.

Speaking about his future, Lampard told The Sun: “I don’t know if I’ll be at Chelsea next season.

“I’d like to carry on for two or three more years but it would be good to end on a high. So, if that means it all ends tomorrow, I wouldn’t have any regrets.

“You know your shelf-life, so I started to mentally prepare when I hit 30. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so there’s a part of me that’s looking forward to the future.”
