David McGoldrick wants to repay the faith shown in him by manager Mick McCarthy by banging in the goals for Town.

The 25-year-old striker joined Blues from Nottingham Forest in the summer, signing a two year deal after impressing while on loan at Portman Road last term.

He has been one of the standout performers for Town in the opening games of this campaign, scoring in the 2-1 defeat by Leeds and being denied a hat-trick by the heroics of Birmingham ‘keeper Darren Randolph in the 1-1 draw at St Andrew’s last time out.

“I’m enjoying my football here and I feel really settled on and off the pitch,” Didzy told the Club website.

“Obviously I was here last season so I knew what I was walking into when I returned in the summer and its great knowing that the manager and TC [Terry Connor] have confidence in my ability.

“That’s something I think I’ve always needed, that backing and hopefully I can repay them by scoring plenty of goals for Ipswich Town.”
