Chelsea midfielder Oscar has described manager Jose Mourinho as one of the best coaches in the world.

The Brazilian has done well so far and he has played a big part in the unbeaten start to the season. The 21-year-old scored on the opening day against Hull City and won the man-of-the-match award to impress his new boss as competition for places hots up.

Oscar has had to adjust during his short Chelsea career, working under three bosses since his arrival from Internacional last summer. The youngster has done well to cement his place with Juan Mata missing out despite his impressive season in the last campaign.

Marco van Ginkel, Andre Schurrle, Willian and Kevin De Bruyne have added some competition into the squad but Oscar appears to be thriving. The Blues have picked up seven points from a possible nine and Oscar has hailed the impact of Mourinho for breeding new confidence into his game and also the team.

“It’s been great to work with Jose Mourinho. He is one of the best coaches in the world,” he told reporters.

“We have seen he has already had a lot of success at Chelsea and I am just really happy to have the opportunity to work with him.

“You can already see the influence he has had on us during the first few games and I hope the team will be able to continue to grow under him, as I will also be able to grow as a player.

“As early as pre-season we could see the belief with which he works.”
