David Moyes insists he is happy with transfer work going on behind the scenes, despite Manchester United’s lack of activity to date.

So far only Guillermo Varela and Wilfried Zaha have arrived at Old Trafford this summer, and the deal for the Crystal Palace youngster had already been finalised before the end of last season.

Having taken over from Sir Alex Ferguson, there will be a lot of scrutiny on Moyes and how he does in the transfer market, with more money now at his disposal to sign players.

The former Everton boss has been strongly linked with a move for the Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, but that deal may well be scuppered.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has now expressed his interest in recruiting the Spanish Under-21 star and having worked with him at the Nou Camp, the German capital seems the most likely destination.

Moyes will not comment on whether Alcantara is on his wanted list, but he is not concern about a lack of new deals for the Premier League champions.

When asked about possible incomings, the Scot stated: “There are people we are actively chasing and we are happy with the way things are going.”

One player who does look bound for Old Trafford during the transfer window is the highly-rated Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay.

Reports in Portugal claim a deal has been agreed for the 26-year-old Argentinian international, but there has been no confirmation yet from either club.
