Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has refused to comment on his future amid reports linking the Frenchman with a summer exit.

The Saints enjoyed a fantastic season last time around after they managed to finish in eighth position in the table with a record points total of 56.

The impressive performances of the team have led to some of the bigger clubs in the Premier League coming in and taking some of their star assets.

Striker Rickie Lambert started the exodus after completing a £4million move to Liverpool before the start of the World Cup and he was then followed out of the door by Luke Shaw who has moved to Manchester United.

The news doesn’t get any better for Southampton fans as captain Adam Lallana is expected to complete his £25million switch to Liverpool by Sunday after the midfielder reportedly had a medical at Anfield on Friday.

Schneiderlin is the next player who is now being widely tipped to leave the Saints this summer and he has said he has the ambition to play on a bigger stage.

“I’ve been there for a long time now. We’ll see how things go, but the directors know my position and what my intentions are,” he said.

“Everyone has ambitions, everyone has his own future in his hands, so we’ll see. Every player wants to play on big occasions.”

Schneiderlin is currently on international duty with France at the World Cup.

Les Bleus are in last-16 action against Nigeria on Monday and they are 1.48 to pick up the win with their African opponents 6.55.
