Michael Laudrup has blasted suggestions of disharmony in the Swansea camp as his side battles to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Swans may have picked up a 2-1 victory at Birmingham in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, but in the Premier League it is a different matter as they are currently enduring an eight-match winless streak.

It leaves Laudrup’s men just three points above the relegation places with plenty of work to be done if they are to avoid the drop just a season after winning the Capital One Cup and booking a place in Europe.

A training ground bust-up involving Chico Flores and Garry Monk kicked off suggestions all is not well in the dressing room, while a number of flare-ups between team-mates against Birmingham also added fuel to the fire.

However, Laudrup has completely dismissed the rumours and insists his squad are completely united.

“There is absolutely no problem with the harmony of the team,” he said. “This is what happens in football. There are so many cases and things always pop up when you are struggling.

“I don’t want to use others as examples, but I remember last year there was so much talking about all the French players at Newcastle. This year they’re exactly the same players – but I haven’t read anything.

“All that has changed is they are playing good and they are winning, which is what football is about.”

Swansea are 11.00 to be relegated with Crystal Palace (1.80), Fulham (1.95) and Cardiff (also 1.95) the favourites to drop into the Championship.
