Ajax star Christian Eriksen believes clubs are eager for his signature because his style of play suits most teams.
The playmaker’s current contract with the Dutch champions is set to expire at the end of next season, and he has constantly been linked to clubs like Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.
With the midfielder expressing his desire for a new challenge, he remains clear that what he wants is a club that will show their desire to get him, and will eventually be the best fit.
“The most important thing is to do what I feel is right. My next club has to express that they really want me,” he told reporters.
“I have to feel that it is the right place and then their style of play has to fit me. I can’t play in a club that prefers to play with long balls.”
Eriksen praised Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp, while dismissing rumours that he could also be moving to Spain to play in La Liga.
“Jurgen Klopp seems like a really good coach and a great person. It can be the difference for me to get a charismatic coach with a tendency to use younger players,” he continued.
“It is the coach who chooses the team so it is important for me to play for a coach who I can trust and who you can build a good relationship with.
“I wouldn’t mind playing in Spain if there was something interesting there for me but I might try a different league first.”
