Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has been linked with the vacant post at Manchester United but he insists he is focused on his project in Germany.
The Red Devils confirmed Moyes’ exit on Tuesday, and speculation has already linked several high profile managers to the post with Jurgen Klopp, Louis Van Gaal and Guardiola all being mentioned in the running, but club legend Ryan Giggs has now taken temporary charge.
United are expected to appoint a big name to handle the pressure at Old Trafford and although Guardiola has plenty of years at the top he has distanced himself with the job.
The former Barcelona boss only took charge at the Allianz Arena in 2013 and he has already managed to win the Bundesliga title ahead of rivals Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund. Guardiola has also guided the club into the German Cup final and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Ahead of their tie against Real Madrid on Wednesday, Guardiola has played down reports that he will make the move to Manchester.
He said: “I’m at Bayern and I signed for three years. I feel that we can still improve. I changed my Catalan culture for German and that wasn’t easy. And I need time.
“I still have a job to do, I’m comfortable here and people respect my work. I want to stay here.
