Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano insists that all of the players remain focused on their treble bid despite the club’s off-field issues.
The Catalan giants have been hit with a 14-month transfer ban, but Mascherano insists it is not having an adverse affect on the current squad.
Barca are chasing La Liga glory as they sit just one point behind current leaders Atletico Madrid, while they will face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final later this month.
Mascherano’s side are also involved in the battle for the Champions League title and they take on Atletico at the Vicente Calderon in the second-leg of their quarter-final clash on Wednesday, with the tie finely poised following a 1-1 first-leg draw at Camp Nou.
The Argentina international has stressed Barcelona are fully focused on their bid for silverware this season, and not the controversy surrounding the club’s transfer dealings.
“We have the chance to win it all and we won’t give up despite what’s happening at the club,” he told the Blaugrana’s official website.
“We play the game. This group of players has experienced nearly every kind situation.
“But the team needs to try to show what Barca is through football.
Everything else isn’t our concern.”
Barcelona are 2.23 to secure the win in Madrid on Wednesday, which would see them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Gerardo Martino’s men can also be backed at 2.60 to see off Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on April 16, with Real at 2.45 to claim the win.
