Bacary Sagna has denied reports suggesting he has already agreed a deal that will see the Arsenal full-back join Manchester City on a free transfer this summer.

The French defender is due to fall out of contract with the Gunners and, although a new deal at the Emirates looks highly unlikely, he says a decision on his future has yet to be made.

Reports went as far as suggesting that City had agreed a deal thought to be in the region of £150,000 a week with the player, but he has now moved to deny such talk.

Sagna does not want any distractions going into the World Cup, and says his future will be sorted before the Brazil showpiece gets underway.

“Have I already signed a contract with Manchester City? No, that is not true,” he told reporters when quizzed about his future.

“My situation will be sorted out before the World Cup, but I haven’t signed for anyone so far.

“We all have our own destiny and I will try to find mine.”

Chelsea have also been linked with a switch for Sagna, while there is plenty of interest in his native France, but City still remain hot favourites to sign him when he does eventually make up his mind.

France are priced at 24.00 to go on and win the World Cup and Sagna will be a key member of Didier Deschamps’ side.
