Mikel Arteta says Arsenal have got what it takes to last the pace in the title race and will not bow to the pressure of leading the Premier League.
The Gunners leapfrogged back over Manchester City on New Year’s Day following their last gasp victory over Cardiff City at the Emirates Stadium and are in with a great chance of ending their title drought.
Despite Arsenal’s blistering form this season there have been suggestions their title bid could falter in the second half of the season with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool breathing down their necks.
However Arteta says all the title contenders are under pressure and the Gunners will just carry on going about their business and not concern themselves with the doubters.
“We are just going from game to game, because there is still a lot to play for,” Arteta said.
“You can see every week there are results which are suprising and that everyone is putting pressure on each other.
“It (title race) is going to go all the way to the end and we want to be there because we want to win the league.”
Arsenal do not return to Premier League action until Monday January 13th when they travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa and there is a good chance they could have slipped a couple of places by then.
Chelsea could go top with victory at Hull on the Saturday, while City could take the lead with three points at Newcastle on Sunday 12th.
