Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects to be in charge at the Emirates Stadium next season even if his side fails to land the FA Cup title.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the campaign but Wenger has stressed he intends to remain with the Gunners.

Arsenal take on Hull in the FA Cup final later this month but Wenger insists his future will not be decided by the tie at Wembley as his side bid for a first trophy since they won the FA Cup in 2005, but he concedes securing a top-four finish was “important”.

He said: “I have said many times my word is my word. I am from a period where you didn’t need a pen to commit.

“Don’t worry, don’t be too impatient. You will see me again.

“It is not linked to the FA Cup final. It was important, of course, to be in the Champions League – that’s for sure.

“I have had no moments of doubt. If I had moments of doubt it would have been a few years ago when I had to say no to many offers and commit to this club and I was under a lot of pressure.”

Arsenal are 1.47 to beat Hull in the FA Cup final on May 17, a draw is 4.14 and Hull City are 6.32 to claim the win.

The Gunners have guaranteed a top-four finish ahead of their final match of the season at Norwich next weekend, although they cannot catch third-placed Chelsea as the Blues are three points clear of Arsenal with a vastly superior goal difference.
