Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies declared himself ‘proud’ of his side’s performance in tonight’s enthralling 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough.
The Reds staged a superb second-half comeback to come from two behind to claim a valuable point and remain unbeaten at The City Ground so far this season.
The Forest boss said: “I’ve got to say I’m very, very proud of the players for their effort and performance. I thought there were some magnificent individual displays and our quality tonight was outstanding.
“When you’ve got commitment, passion and desire like that then you have to be proud. It was a very exciting game and we deserved at least a point, no doubt.”
Forest’s cause wasn’t helped by an early injury to centre back Kelvin Wilson, whose back spasm will be assessed in the morning, but his manager thought The Reds coped well and were unfortunate to fall two goals behind.
He said: “I thought we were completely dominant in the opening 45 minutes. We found ourselves a goal down against the run of play and it was another wonder goal to put them 2-0 up.
“But we produced an outstanding comeback and probably should have won the game.”
