Frank Lampard is not going to Fulham.

Martin Jol confirmed that on Tuesday amid speculations that the veteran Chelsea playmaker could be heading to Craven Cottage next season.

Lampard is set to make his 600th Chelsea appearance against Fulham on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old player’s contract with the Blues is expiring in the summer, putting his stint at Stamford Bridge next season in question.

When asked about Lampard, who has been strongly linked to a summer move to the LA Galaxy, Jol was full of praise for the man who is just two goals short of the Blues’ all-time goalscoring record and claimed that he would definitely take him at Fulham but he expects Lampard to stay where he is.

“He is the most productive midfield player in England in the last 30 or 40 years,” Jol told reporters. “Everyone would love to have him. He’s fit and is a good character.

He added: “He will have a smile on his face if he listens to Fulham, but I would love to have him. It’s hypothetical as he will never play for Fulham. He’s a legend – a living legend over there. He won all the prizes over there. In the end I have a feeling they will keep him.”
