British number one Laura Robson has confirmed she has split with her coach Miles Maclagan after a disappointing slump in form.

Robson has only been working with the former professional for four months but they have decided to go their separate ways.

The 19-year-old has struggled for her top form in recent weeks and has won just three matches in her last four tournaments after a previous 12 months that had seen her rise up the rankings.

The teenager was sitting at a career-high 27 in the world back in July after some extremely impressive performances – which included a run to the fourth round at Wimbledon – but she has since dipped down to number 47.

As a result, the Briton has decided to part with Maclagan – a move that means she is now on the look-out for her third coach of the year after splitting with Croatian mentor Zeljko Krajan earlier in 2013 after just nine months working with him.

Confirming the news, Robson posted on her Facebook page: “Bit of news… Miles and I have decided not to continue our partnership.

“I want to thank Miles for stepping in on quick notice to be my coach this summer.

“I have great respect for him and a person and coach and look forward to continuing our friendship.”

Robson says she will now take a few weeks off and will update her fans as and when there are developments over who will take over the key role as her coach.

“I will take a couple weeks off to refresh my mind and body and will keep my fans updated on my coaching situation,” she added.
