Heavyweight star Luis Ortiz will make his debut as a Matchroom fighter in Monaco as part of a huge night that will see several British stars fight for world titles.

Ortiz signed for Matchrooom last week and he will take on Malik Scott on November 12 in Monte Carlo.

The Cuban has been avoided by several heavyweight stars and ‘King Kong’ is expected to fight for world honours in the near future.

The 37-year-old will headline the bill that will also see Jamie McDonell defend his WBA bantamweight title against Liborio Solis.

McDonnell will make his fifth defence of his title against Solis, who is looking to become a two-weight world champion after dominating the super-flyweight division.

Liverpool’s Stephen Smith is also getting another crack at world honours and he will challenge WBA super-featherweight champion Jason Sosa.

Super-Middleweight Martin Murray is also on the card and he will face former WBO champion Arthur Abraham in a final eliminator after being beaten by George Groves last time out.

Speaking about the card, Hearn admits it is a huge honour to take British fighters to Monaco. He told Sky Sports: “It is an absolute honour to bring this huge night of world championship boxing to Monaco.

“It’s been a wonderful few years for British boxing but to showcase this great sport in such a high quality environment is very exciting.

This is going to be the most high profile fight night of the year and we are looking forward to putting on an exceptional night of boxing for Monte Carlo, fans and all of our international broadcasters.”
