Joe Hart believes he made the right decision by joining Torino on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City during the summer.

The England international had been an integral part of the Citizens starting XI over the past ten years, making nearly 350 appearances for the Manchester club in all competitions.

However Hart lost his place in the first team following the arrival of new coach Pep Guardiola during the summer, with the Spaniard signing Barcelona stopper Claudio Bravo as his preferred number one.

Hart conceded that he was disappointed to lose his place in the team, but he knew the time was right to move on, as he needed to find a club where he could showcase his talents.

“Football is a game of opinions and some people have a great opinion of me and some people probably think I’m absolutely useless,” said Hart.

“Unfortunately for me, one of the guy’s opinions in charge of my club at the time wasn’t as strong as it needed to be, so I needed to find someone who had an opinion of me who thought I could help their team.”

The 29-year-old confirmed that he was not overwhelmed with offers when he became available to leave City, but he believes he made the right decision by joining Torino.

He continued: “I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sat there with 25 options [of clubs to join]. Torino was a really good option for me and it definitely excited me to go to play in Serie A and to play for Torino.

That fit, in the situation I was in, was a good decision.” Hart has made five league appearances since joining I Granata, and he is likely to be between the sticks once again when they visit Palermo on October 17.

Torino are available at 1.95 to win the match, while Palermo are on offer at 4.00 and the draw is priced at 3.40.
