Scotland winger James Forrest says his side can expect some more twists and turns in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Scots were left disappointed on Saturday night after being held to a 1-1 draw by Lithuania at Hampden Park.

Lithuania’s Fiodor Cernych had silenced the home crowd with his goal, but Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur scored a last-minute equaliser to give his team some hope.

Saturday’s draw lifted Scotland into second place in Group F, but with some big games to come, some of their fans have shown their disappointment at the draw.

Gordon Strachan’s men will take on Slovakia on Tuesday night and Forrest insists everyone needs to keep a positive mindset.

He told Sky Sports: “You need to look on the positives. “We have four points and not been beat.

There is still a long way to go and I think there are a few upsets in the group still to come so hopefully we can get a good result on Tuesday and the boys will be confident.

“At home and in front of this crowd you are expected to win and we didn’t do that. The last 10 minutes we looked like scoring goals and it was just unfortunate that we drew but we will take some confidence into the next game.

“We have only played two games and we have four points and we need to try and build on that.” Slovakia are the 2.25 favourites to win the game, with the draw 3.20, while Scotland are priced at 3.40 to grab all three points.
