Former UFC Women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm got a one-sided decision win over Irene Aldana in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night main event. This was Holm’s second win in a row. This means that she is on her first winning streak since beating Ronda Rousey to improve to 10-0 in her career.

Holm is one of the greatest athletes in combat sports history. She is a former professional boxer and kickboxer with multiple championship reigns in boxing. Holm is the first athlete to win world titles in both boxing and MMA. She defended one of her boxing titles for a total of eighteen times, in three weight classes.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Holm took part in boxing, soccer, gymnastics, swimming and diving as a child. When she was 20 years old she won her first championship as part of the International Rules Adult Women’s Welterweight Division at the International Kickboxing Federation. Her boxing career began shortly after that and she made significant progress. Eventually Holm was named Ring Magazine’s female fighter of the year twice.

Her career in mixed martial arts began in 2011 and she went 7-0 before signing with the UFC in 2015. In her debut, Holm won a split decision against Raquel Pennington at UFC 184 on February 28th and less than a year later she won the UFC Women’s bantamweight championship after knocking out Ronda Rousey in the second round at UFC 193 on November 14th.

She was off to a 3-0 start in her UFC career, including the win against Rousey but she is just 4-5 since. In her defense, she did face best that the UFC has to offer, including Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko, Germaine de Randamie, Bethe Correia, Cris Cyborg, Megan Anderson, Amanda Nunes, Raquel Pennington and Aldana.
