Nicky Henderson was relieved to finally see My Tent Or Yours back on a racetrack after he enjoyed a gallop after racing at Kempton Park.

The 2014 Champion Hurdle runner-up has not raced since appearing at Ayr a month after that Cheltenham second behind Jezki.

Henderson has hopes of getting the JP McManus-owned ten-year-old racing at Wincanton next weekend, after which it will be all eyes on the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham on March 15.

Barry Geraghty rode My Tent Or Yours at Kempton on Friday as he jumped four hurdles and came up the home straight in a piece of work with another McManus-owned runner, Hargam, who was partnered by Sir AP McCoy.

Henderson was elated to have finally got My Tent Or Yours out after a litany of setbacks.

“It was absolutely perfect and it would have done both horses the world of good,” said Henderson.

“It’s been awfully stop-start with My Tent and the main issue has been a sore shin. It’s just been niggle after niggle. We’ve got behind and we’ve been looking at doing something like this for a while.”

The Seven Barrows handler hinted that the hard part may now be over for My Tent Or Yours and he appears confident his charge can give Faugheen a race in the Champion Hurdle.

“I can’t tell you he will slay Faugheen but he will be competitive,”
said Henderson.

“We were always fighting to get him there and we never gave up. He has done lots of paddling in the water and cantering in the sand so he has done lots of back-up work.”

The Willie Mullins-trained Faugheen is 1.36 to retain his Champion Hurdle crown at Cheltenham while My Tent Or Yours is 21.00 to prevail.
