Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo is looking forward to getting out on the track and testing his skills at the United States Grand Prix on October 23.

Ricciardo is the best of the rest outside of the dominant Mercedes pair of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, with the Australian currently sitting third in the World Championship standings.

The 27-year-old from Perth picked up his first win of the season at Malaysia recently while he has recorded a further five podium finishes in Monaco, Hungary, Germany, Belgium and Singapore.

Ricciardo remains on course for another third-place finish in the individual standings, having opened up a 42-point gap on Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen in fourth.

Just four races remain in the campaign and next up is the United States GP in Austin – a venue Red Bull last triumphed at back in 2013 when Sebastian Vettel was still with them.

Ricciardo is eagerly anticipating the upcoming outing and is ready to get to grips with the challenging Circuit of the Americas.

“The track in Austin is sick, I love it,” he said. “It has a lot of unique features like the wide apex at turn one, you could fit about four cars side by side through there. “There are loads of opportunities to overtake and have fun throughout the whole track.

It has fast-flowing sections and hairpins, pretty much everything I like in a track.” Ricciardo is currently 11.00 to win the race outright while team-mate Max Verstappen, fresh from his second-place finish in Japan, is priced at 10.00.

Championship leader Rosberg and British rival Hamilton are joint-favourites at 2.10, as the duo prepare to do battle once again.
