John Guidetti is well aware Italy are the favourites to reach the World Cup 2018 but he insists Sweden can down the Azzurri over two legs.

Sweden face Italy in a crucial play-off and have home advantage for the first leg on Friday.

Sweden are 3.40 to claim the win, Italy can be backed at 2.30 and a draw is 3.10.

Guidetti, who has Italian heritage, expects a stern test both in Sweden at the Friends Arena and in Italy at the San Siro in Milan, but the Celta Vigo striker is in confident mood going into the double header.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “The matches and the atmosphere will be amazing, both at Friends Arena and in San Siro.

Of course Italy is the favourite, but we survived and went through in a difficult group with France and Holland.

“We’re confident we can make it. At the Euros [Euro 2016] we lost to Italy only with 10 men and in the last minutes. It will be a special game for me, since I have Italian roots.

However I grew up and I’ve always played with Sweden, so my heart is yellow and blue. I like Italy but I love my country.”

Guidetti is 8.50 to score the first goal of the game on Friday and RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg can be backed at 9.50.

Sweden are 7.50 to win 1-0, while a 2-0 success for the Italians is available at 9.50.
