Tottenham Hostpur boss Andre Villas-Boas confirmed club will not be making a move for striker Jackson Martinez, while also distancing them from signing Bernard.

Reports earlier this month claimed that Spurs were prepared to offer £25million to bring Martinez from Villas-Boas’ former club to White Hart Lane.

The Colombian international enjoyed a great first season with Porto after joining from Mexican side Jaguares de Chiapas last summer, finishing the campaign as the Portuguese league’s top scorer with 26 goals.

The forward’s displays helped Porto to the title and attracted the attention of Barcelona, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Rumours also suggest that Spurs were going to make a bid for the striker but Villas-Boas confirmed he isn’t interested in making a bid for the 26-year-old.

“We don’t want Jackson Martinez,” he said.

The Spurs boss also confirmed that the club aren’t looking to sign Atletico Mineiro’s attacking midfielder Bernard, though he did reveal that the club have been tracking the youngster.

He added: “Bernard’s a player that we monitor like many others, but I think Tottenham will do nothing regarding them.”
