Manchester United boss David Moyes revealed he is confident that club will bring in some more signings this summer but admits he is unsure to make a third bid for Cesc Fabregas.

Moyes has yet to secure a deal for any new players since taking over the reins from Sir Alex Ferguson with Uruguayan right-back Guillermo Varela agreeing a move prior to his take over.

The former Everton and Preston boss has seen two bids for Fabregas rejected with the second understood to be in the region of £30million plus add-ons.

The Scot insists that he inherited a very strong side – demonstrated by their league winning performance – and although he is eager to add further quality he believes that his squad is good enough to compete once again.

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of targets over the summer and are expected to add another defender to their ranks with Ezequiel Garay emerging as a top target as well as Everton full-back Leighton Baines.

Moyes said: “I couldn’t tell you if there will be another bid [for Fabregas].

“I never at any time said I knew we would get him. We will take stock and consider what we are going to do next.

“I am quite confident we will add to the squad.

“But what we have here is a really good squad of players already. You mustn’t forget about the quality that is already here at Manchester United.”
