Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has praised the club’s talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

German international Kroos, 24, joined the UEFA Champions League holders in the summer after a £24million fee was agreed with German champions Bayern Munich.

Kroos says he has been blown away by the quality of the squad, with Ronaldo in particular catching his eye.

He said: “At the moment, there is no better player than Cristiano. He was one of those who looked out for me at first, he’s a really nice guy.

“I know what it means to play in a team with great individual quality.

“We all respect each other, the spirit is amazing. I was lucky to come from a club with great standards. In Munich, it’s more than stepping out on to the field to win – you start the season to win titles. So I didn’t have to adapt a lot.

“I enjoy playing in Madrid. Although people may not believe me, it’s a family club. I feel that people trust me.”

Real struggled at the start of the La Liga season, losing two of their first three games, but have managed to turn their fortunes around recently, with 29-year-old Ronaldo bagging 17 goals in 11 games in all competitions.

Next up in La Liga, Los Blancos face a trip to Levante, who sit 17th in the table after just one win in their opening seven games. They have let in the third highest number of goals in La Liga so far with
15 being conceded, and so it’s likely that rampant Ronaldo will again be on the scoresheet.

Real Madrid are 1.71 to beat Levante, with the home side 17.88 to record a shock win.

After that Real travel to England to take on Liverpool in the Champions League.

Liverpool have won on each of the three occasions they’ve played the Madrid side, but will be underdogs going into the game against the reigning European champions.
