Blackburn loan striker Tom Lawrence is confident that Rovers can recover from a slow start to the new Championship season.
The 21-year-old Welshman has moved to Ewood Park on an initial deal running until January and made his Rovers bow in the 1-0 weekend defeat at Brighton, which made it five games without a win in all competitions so far this season.
However, the former Manchester United youngster remains confident that he can help the Championship outfit turn things around, starting with a Lancashire derby at home to Bolton Wanderers on Friday evening.
Lawrence told the Lancashire Telegraph: “The lads have shown in every game that they are just inches off it – it will come sooner rather than later.
“The lads were gutted on Saturday, we should have won the game, but we didn’t take our chances.
“The boys never gave in, we went at it until the last minute and we’ve just got to keep fighting.”
Blackburn are available at 1.95 to defeat Bolton at Ewood Park, with the draw 3.50.
Rovers will hope to have Jordan Rhodes fit and available, with the Scotland striker having returned to training after missing both the loss to the Seagulls and the 1-1 home draw with Cardiff City.
Meanwhile, Trotters boss Neil Lennon is hoping that his side will have plenty of support at Ewood Park, with Bolton also yet to register a victory this season.
He told the Bolton News: “We know there will be plenty of support over in Blackburn and it would be good to send the fans home happy.”
