Lorenzo Insigne hopes Napoli will be able to end Juventus’ Scudetto dominance in the coming campaign despite the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin.

Juve head into the new season seeking an eighth successive Serie A title although Napoli pushed them all the way last term, picking up 91 points to finish four points adrift of the champions.

The Bianconeri have signed five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer but Insigne feels Napoli have also made a significant move by hiring Carlo Ancelotti as manager following Maurizio Sarri’s exit.

Napoli are 7.00 to win Serie A outright, Juventus are 1.44 and Inter Milan can be backed at 9.50.

Insigne is well aware Juve are the team to beat but is convinced the Partenopei can mount a sustained challenge.

“I’m convinced that we’ll succeed with Ancelotti, his numbers in the Champions League are fabulous,” the 27-year-old forward told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“His approach to Napoli has been excellent and he transmits serenity to the whole environment.

“He’s very simple in his gestures, he showers with us and takes advantage of every moment in the dressing room or around the table to talk, to form the group.

“For example, to help the new ones integrate he forced them to get on a chair and sing next to him, to share everything.

Even the president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] has been more serene since he’s been here.

“Are we still Juve’s main challengers? Yes because, as the president says, Ancelotti is our best signing.

Don’t forget that this is a very strong group that has already done well.

“The club and the coach will know where and how to reinforce this team, the only regret is that in doing so people forget the good things done over the past few years.”
