Ryan Christie is desperate to help Celtic see off visitors Kilmarnock on Saturday and move to the top of the Premiership table.

Killie, who overcame Celtic 2-1 at Rugby Park earlier in the season, are the surprise leaders in Scotland but they are just one point clear of the defending champions ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Second placed Rangers play on Sunday, so victory for Celtic would see them move to the top of the standings for 24 hours at least.

“It’s a huge game and one we’re looking forward to because we know that a victory against Kilmarnock lifts us back on top. And that would also put us in good stead for the remaining games this month,” Christie told the Daily Record.

“Fair play to them. They’ve been brilliant since the start of the season and we found that out in the first fixture against them. That was a frustrating day.

“Back then, having just arrived back at Celtic from a loan spell at Aberdeen, you do think it may be another chance that you’ve not taken.

“To be fair, I was lucky enough to be given another opportunity and I’ve been in the team ever since.

“But the incentive is clear enough for us – win and we’ll be in first place and that’s where we want to be.”

Christie is 8.00 to score the first goal in the PRICE BOOSTS. Celtic are 6.50 to win 3-0, while Killie are 41.00 to claim another 2-1 win over the Parkhead club.
