There has been extensive spread reports in the Scottish media that Celtic are working on negotiating a new deal with French forward Odsonne Edouard with the aim of keeping him with the club until the summer of 2021 at least.

The reports also made some further claims that the club is so desperate to keep the in-form forward as he continues his impressive form of the Hoops.

Edouard has now scored an incredible 26 goals in 43 games this campaign as well as contributing 17 assists for his side. This made him attractive for the premier league side Leicester City as former coach Lennon looks to bolster his attacking options. Another host of premier league clubs like Manchester United, Newcastle, and Everton are also courting the French sensation.

The Hoops forward is carrying a price tag of £30million, but Celtic are working towards tieing him to a new deal with a bumpy package.

Persuading Edouard to sign a new deal might seem like a difficult task because he is one of the hottest and youngest strikers in Europe and at that price tag [£30m], it will be a price too reasonable to turn down and also a great bargain for any club who snaps him up, as it is a 50-50 thing.

Considering his age, Edouard might opt to stay at Celtic Park for another season, but should he choose to leave, he will put his suitors on a green alert.

Celtic will look to place their fulltime focus on the SPFL as they chase a tenth league win.
