New Celtic signing Vakoun Issouf Bayo is targeting scoring goals and winning trophies during his time with the club.
The Ivory Coast international completed his move to Parkhead from Slovakian outfit Dunajska Streda earlier this month and he has come with a reputation for scoring goals, after netting 18 times in 23 appearances for his former club during the first half of the season.
The 22-year-old is now hoping to maintain those standards during his time in Glasgow and he is also targeting winning trophies – with Celtic remaining on course to claim an unprecedented triple-treble this season.
“When I first heard of the offer from Celtic, I was surprised and very happy. I told myself it was a really good opportunity and I had to take it,” Bayo was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “I would like to keep scoring goals and win trophies.”
Bayo, who could make his Celtic debut during Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hamilton at Parkhead, is also hoping to feature when the Bhoys take on Valencia in the Europa League next month, although he acknowledges he has work to do to get up to speed.
“Playing in the Europa League would be fantastic,” he added. “At the moment, I need to work on my fitness as I haven’t played in a while. “It’s all about hard work, and then the coach will decide when I’m ready.”
Celtic have won both their matches since returning from the winter break and they are priced at 1.08 to continue that trend against Hamilton, who are available at 26.00, while the draw is on offer at 11.00.
