Fulham’s Kieran Richardson is full of confidence his side can avoid relegation this season as they prepare for a massive clash against fellow strugglers Cardiff City on Saturday.

An Andre Schurrle hat-trick was enough to give the Blues a 3-1 victory over their neighbours over the weekend and the result leaves the Cottagers rock bottom of the Premier League table with four points between themselves and safety.

This weekend will see Cardiff, who are just one place above Fulham in the table, host the Londoners in a game that could go a long way in deciding if either side avoids the drop into the Championship.

Richardson is confident his side have the quality and the mental strength to stay in the top flight and feels manager Felix Magath is the right man for the job.

He told the Daily Star: “The manager came in after the game and said ‘it’s gone now, it’s finished. We’ve got to move on because Cardiff is a massive game’. And he’s right.

“I know from what happened with West Brom that you can turn it round with a couple of results.

“There’s 10 games to go – that’s 30 points – a lot to play for.”

Fulham will make the trip across the Welsh border looking to climb off the bottom of the league and are 3.05 to come away from the Cardiff City Stadium with what would be a crucial three points.
