Ravel on the move…again

Ravel Morrison Lazio

Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi has confirmed Ravel Morrison has been placed on the transfer list and will hopefully find a new club before the summer window shuts.

Morrison has been here, there and everywhere over the past four years, having played at Manchester United, West Ham, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City and now Lazio.

The former England Under-21 international moved to the Italian outfit last summer on a four-year deal but first-team opportunities have been extremely limited, with just four Serie A appearances made.

His lack of playing time was said to be becoming a frustration and there were already reports claiming an exit could be on the cards before the recent comments from Inzaghi.

Lazio have numerous options to choose from in midfield, with the likes of Marco Parolo, Lucas Biglia, Danilo Cataldi and Felipe Anderson, and the manager says Morrison has fallen down the pecking order.

“Morrison is officially on market,” he said. “We are looking for a destination for him, with the agreement of the club.

We are talking of a big quality player but we are complete in the midfield.” Morrison doesn’t have long to find a new club, with the window closing on Wednesday night, and it looks increasingly likely a loan move will happen.

The 23-year-old does have undoubted potential and he could be an enticing proposition for some of the newly-promoted Premier League clubs, who may need the extra quality to survive this season.

Middlesbrough, who have made an undefeated start to their campaign, may be tempted into a move and a temporary switch could come about.

Aitor Karanka’s men return to league action on September 10 when they play host to Crystal Palace and the home side are 2.10 favourites to win, a draw is priced at 3.10 while the Eagles are 3.60 outsiders.
