Cesc Fabregas has denied reports claiming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has told him he can leave and the midfielder insists his only focus is to help the team win matches.

Fabregas has been a regular fixture in the first team since joining the Blues in 2014 from Barcelona, making 71 Premier League appearances in the first two seasons.

The 29-year-old was a key cog in the side that won the title in 2015 but his performances dropped in the following campaign as Chelsea let their grip on the trophy slip.

Conte was brought in as the new manager this summer, leaving his post as Italy boss after Euro 2016, and one of his main priorities was to strengthen the midfield.

France international N’Golo Kante became the second arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer and the former Leicester City star has been an ever-present.

However, it has been a stark contrast for Fabregas and just 12 minutes of Premier League football have been played so far this season.

The lack of playing time has left doubts over the Spaniard’s future and recent reports suggested a move would materialise before the end of the transfer window.

Fabregas has responded in fierce fashion to these claims and has rubbished the rumours whilst reaffirming his commitment to the English club.

“Contrary to what has been written, the manager and I have a good relationship and he has NEVER told me that I can leave,” he wrote on Twitter. “He said that he counts on me, as I count on him.

I will continue to fight for this club until the very end and when called upon I will always give my best.”

Chelsea, who have won all three league games, return to action on September 11 away at Swansea and the visitors are 1.57 favourites to pick up all three points, a draw is priced at 4.00 while the hosts are 5.50 outsiders.
