Former France international Samir Nasri has revealed an exit from Manchester City could still materialise before the transfer window closes as he ponders his future.

Nasri arrived at the Etihad Stadium back in 2011 from Arsenal and the midfielder was a regular fixture in the first team over the first three seasons, making 92 Premier League appearances and scoring 14 goals.

The 29-year-old has gradually slipped down the pecking order and just four league starts were made in the previous campaign under former boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Pep Guardiola took charge of the Citizens this summer but has offered limited chances to the ex-Gunners star, who has played just 15 minutes of top flight football.

Reports had suggested Nasri had been told he can leave City but, although admitting an exit could still happen, he insists the club have never tried to force him out.

“Yes, there could still be movement. It depends on a lot of things in fact, he said. “There’s been a lot of speculation.

Things that are true, things that are false too, because they’ve never shown me the door or anything like that. “But I said ‘everything depends on what’s up there [in your head] and your desire’.

So we’ll see. We’re going to sit down, discuss it and see what’s to be done.” Nasri is said to be attracting interest from Turkey, with deals to Besiktas and Galatasaray potentially in the pipeline, while a stay in England could also be on the cards.

City don’t appear to be missing the influence of the Frenchman after recording three straight league victories to go top of the Premier League.

Guardiola’s men are back in action on September 10 when they travel to Old Trafford to take on fierce rivals Manchester United in a highly-anticipated derby.

The hosts, led by Jose Mourinho, are 2.30 favourites, a draw is priced at 3.25 while the visitors are a 3.10 chance to claim all the spoils.
