Everton’s new arrival Ramiro Funes Mori has assured the fans that he will give ‘100 per cent’ for the team and is hopeful of enjoying a successful time at the club.
The Argentina international completed a £9.5million to Goodison Park from River Plate late on Monday night, putting pen-to-paper on a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old won the 2015 Copa Libertadores with his former club and will provide good competition for places at the heart of defence, vying for a place with Phil Jagielka and John Stones.
The latter is still a reported target for defending Premier League champions Chelsea but the England international looks set to stay at the club when the transfer window closes.
Mori, who started his youth career at FC Dallas back in 2008, is looking forward to pulling on the famous blue Everton colours and insists he will work extremely hard for the team.
“I’m the type of player who likes to work hard in every training session and in every game,” he told evertontv. “I train the way I play and I’m going to give it 100 per cent every time I go out there to play for Everton.
“When I heard about Everton’s interest, I didn’t think twice. My agent told me about this opportunity and Everton did everything to bring me over and I wanted to come.”
Everton have enjoyed a decent start to the Premier League season, having taken five points from their first four games and they return to Premier League action after the international break on September 12, when they host Chelsea.
Everton are 4.20 to clinch all three points, a draw is priced at 3.50 and Chelsea are firm favourites at 1.85.
