Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has warned his side they still have work to do if they are to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Tottenham are well placed to reach the last eight after a 3-0 first-leg win over Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 on Wednesday.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring just after half-time, with Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente on target in the latter stages to ensure the Premier League side will take a big lead into the return leg in Dortmund.

Spurs hold a commanding lead and managed to deny BVB the lifeline of an away goal, but Pochettino says his side cannot afford to be complacent ahead of a tough second leg at the home of the Bundesliga leaders.

“Three nil is a very good result but at the same time I think we need to think that we need to finish the job,” he said. “Always when we play this competition and against a good side like Dortmund it is very difficult.”

Pochettino was also quick to praise South Korean forward Son as he scored for the fourth consecutive game. “Son was fantastic again. I think he is a player that provides the team with a lot of things,” he added.

“He has a smile and has lots of energy. His performances every game are improving and improving.” Spurs are 15.00 to win the Champions League outright and 3.50 to beat BVB in the second leg on March 5.
