Harry Kane says Tottenham finished the season in perfect fashion as they smashed Hull 7-1 on the final day.
The Lilywhites outclassed Leicester 6-1 in their penultimate fixture but went one better on Humberside with Kane again at the forefront, netting a hat-trick to secure the Premier League Golden Boot for the second straight season.
Having already secured second place in the table, Spurs’ impressive finish to the campaign will only help them going into next term, as they look to go one better by winning the title, a feat they are 9.00 to achieve.
Following a tough time at Euro 2016, Kane has battled injury at times this term but has come into his own in recent weeks and will again be at the forefront of their title bid next term.
Sunday’s triumph made it 12 wins from their final 13 outings and things look good for Mauricio Pochettino’s men ahead of their move to their temporary home for the 2017/18 campaign, Wembley.
Kane admits retaining the Golden Boot will be huge for his confidence and feels his side’s strong finish will only help them next term.
He said: “It’s massive to win the Golden Boot again, I said to retain it would be special with the injuries I’ve had but to score 29 goals in 30 games is something I feel proud of.
“Finishing the season with seven goals in two games is perfect, hopefully I can continue it at the start of next season.
When you look at the players behind us, we have a fantastic team. We are delighted with the way we finished.”
