In what had become the longest winless streak in Premier League history, Sheffield United finally got the proverbial monkey off its back as the Blades earned their first win this season. That’s right, Sheffield has won one game in their last 18 EPL fixtures.

Following a mental lapse from Federico Fernandez, a hand-ball penalty was awarded to Billy Sharp. Sharp scored on the penalty in the 73rd minute, just moments after entering the match in the 59th minute.

It was just the ninth goal of the season for Sheffield United.

While the victory was a team accomplishment, the media and fans alike took to social media to celebrate the play of Ethan Ampadu.

3 tackles. 3 interceptions. 6 aerial duels won. 4 clearances. 1 accurate/in-line cross. 2 key passes. 0 unsuccessful touches. 0 times he was beaten off the dribble. 88 percent passing rate.

As many put, it was a ‘flawless’ performance by Ampadu.
